A Former NPA sa Barrio surrenders in Mountain Province
Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad Benguet- (May 15, 2021) – A former activist and an NPA sa Barrio member of Leonardo Pacsi Command has finally put to an end to her armed life as she voluntarily surrendered at Natonin Municipal Police Station in the evening of May 11.
Reports reaching the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE reveals that the 30-year-old returnee from Tonglayan, Natonin alias“Del” was a former activist and a KLG Marco member under the Leonardo Pacsi Command.
After series of negotiations from Mountain Province Police Provincial Office and 503rd Brigade Philippine Army together with her brother who happened to be a uniformed personnel made her realize that a better life awaits if she returns to the fold of the law.
According to Natonin Municipal Police Station, “Del” handed over a short firearm ARMSCOR 202 Caliber .38 SPL with defaced serial number, a pamphlet with title “HAPIT”, and a photograph of her together with known activist in the region taken on October 2007 in Bontoc, Mountain Province.
She is now under the custody of Natonin MPS and as she starts a new life, the government will help her with the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
Meanwhile, as the Mountain Province PPO strengthens its effort in ending the armed conflict in their province, on April 22, they have launched their “Oplan Binnaga” that aims to strengthen public awareness on the Communist Terrorist Groups and at the same time, encourage the communities to support the program of the government under EO 70, to attain lasting peace in the province.
