35 Housekeeping and Caregiving graduates receive Training Certificates

LOAKAN—The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Cordillera Administrative Region awarded the training Certificates of 35 graduates in BSBT College on April 7, 2021.

The 35 graduates are composed of 20 Housekeeping NCII grantees under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) and 15 Caregiving NCII. The Housekeeping graduates were trained by Ms. Anna Christina Sumcad for 2 months from December 2020 to February 2021.

The Caregiving graduates completed 5 months of lecture and training in BSBT and 2 months of on-the-job training at JPCOM CARES and STAC 5 in Baguio City from September 2020 to January 2021 trained by Ms. Jezalyn Bugtong through the Flexible and Blended Learning approach.

The following competencies are also accomplished by the Housekeeping graduates; Provide housekeeping services to guests, Clean and prepare rooms for incoming guests, Provide valet/butler service, Laundry linen, and guest clothes, Clean public areas, facilities, and equipment, and Deal with/Handle intoxicated guests.

The Caregiving graduates completed the following competencies; Provide care and support to infants/toddlers, Provide care and support to children, Foster social, intellectual, creative, and emotional development of children, Foster the physical development of children, Provide care and support to elderly, Provide care and support to people with special needs, Maintain healthy and safe environment, Respond to the emergency, Clean living room, dining room, bedrooms, toilet, and bathroom, wash and iron clothes, linen, and fabric, and Prepare hot and cold meals 

The graduation ceremony was graced by TESDA CAR Regional Director Dante J. Navarro, Ms. Imelda Sedano, the Chief of Staff of Cong. Mark Go, and the BSBT staff headed by Ms. Marlene W. Baluyut.

Dir. Navarro encouraged the graduates through his life story. Inspired by his story the graduates expressed their gratitude for the scholarship and skills they have acquired.

“When you will be employed abroad I hope that the skills you acquired from TESDA through BSBT will remain in your hearts as you pursue your career. I know that most of you chose this course to help your families and somehow alleviate poverty. We Filipinos are known for our industry, passion, and compassion particularly in the hospitality and service industries. One day you will enjoy all your achievements and will be one of our modern heroes. TESDA is very proud of you!” he ended. ###
