DPWH-1 completes construction of PNP buildings

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union Mar. 17 (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-1) in the Ilocos completed the construction of three buildings of the Philippine National Police Regional Office 1 (PNP-PRO1) with a total project cost of Php 47,921,860.83.
According to DPWH-1, the newly constructed PNP-PRO 1 Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) building located at Camp Diego Silang in San Fernando City, La Union which costs Php 12,409,950.60, and the Banayoyo Municipal Police Station (BMPS) building located in Ilocos Sur was constructed with a total amount of Php 11,869,499.50.
Meanwhile the Ilocos Sur Provincial Police Office (ISPPO) Administrative Building of Camp President Elpidio R. Quirino in Bantay, Ilocos Sur costs Php 23,642,410.73.
“The buildings will facilitate a better and more comfortable workplace for police personnel whose task primarily focuses on the safety and security of the public,” said DPWH-1 Regional Public Information Officer Esperanza C. Tinaza.
Further, she also said it also adds to a welcoming environment of the said police stations.
The inauguration ceremonies of the buildings were held in the first quarter of this year.
“The funding source of the projects were charged against the DPWH Infra Program for 2020,” Tinaza added.
DPWH-1 started the project in March 2020 and finished these within the given time frame ranging from 224-315 calendar days. (JCR/VHS/AHFF/PIA-1)
