Bokod MHO conducts vaccination roll-out simulation

BAGUIO CITY, March 18(PIA) – – The Bokod Municipal Health Office conducted a simulation on what may take place during the actual vaccination day against the COVID-19.

Held March 12 at the Municipal Gym in Poblacion, Bokod, the simulation activity is very important to prepare for all the possible scenarios that may happen during the vaccination day itself, according to the Dr Lilian Velasco, head of the Bokod Municipal Health Office. 

Velasco said the final vaccination dates will be set soon with seven identified vaccination fixed sites in the municipality.

 Velasco said she will be the first one to be inoculated once the vaccine share of the municipal government arrives.

“I am a senior citizen, asthmatic, and with high blood pressure, thus, I am comorbid. Nevertheless, I am willing to sign a waiver to have the vaccine,” she said. 

She emphasized that only those who were pre-screened and pre-registered will be injected with a dose during the said vaccination dates.

Mayor Thomas Wales Jr called on his constituents not to waste the opportunity to be protected from the virus by subjecting themselves to COVID 19 vaccination.

 Based on the Department of Health’s interim Omnibus Guidelines for the Implementation of the National Vaccine Deployment Plan for COVID 19, the sequence of priorities are as follows: 1) health workers; 2) senior citizens; 3) adults with comorbidity; 4) other frontliners in essential sectors including uniformed personnel, and 5) indigent families.

Hospitals in Benguet including the Dennis Mencio Memorial Hospital in Poblacion, Bokod, have already rolled out vaccination among its health workers last week.  Chief of Hospital Dr. Panangwe led the local hospital’s personnel in receiving their first dose of the vaccine.
