Paglulunsad ng Baguio Flower Festival 2025
Ang ika-29 na taon na pagtatanghal ng Baguio Flower Festival, na kilala bilang “Panagbenga” (isang terminong pinagtibay mula sa wikang Kankanaey na nangangahulugang pamumulaklak) ay inilunsad noong Lunes ng umaga sa Baguio City Hall ground.
Sinimulan ng mga estudyante ang katutubong sayaw para sa pagbubukas ng Baguio Flower Festival.
Sinabi ni Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. President Frederico Alquiroz na ang tema para sa pagdiriwang ngayong taon ay “Blossom Beyond Boundaries”, na nagpapaliwanag na “ito ay naglalaman ng pagkamalikhain, pagsinta at pagkakaisa na tumutukoy sa komunidad ng Baguio”. Binigyang-diin niya ang gayong mga katangian na nagbibigay-inspirasyon sa mga tao na maghangad ng mas mataas, mangarap ng mas malaki, at makamit nang sama-sama.
Sinabi ni Alquiroz na isa sa mga upgrade sa “Panagbenga” is the raising of stakes and hiking up the prizes for the participants of the medium and large float category for the “Grand Float Parade”, while continuing the all-out support to the participants of the small float category.
Ibinunyag niya na ibinabalik nila ang kategorya ng kolehiyo sa “Grand Street Dancing” bilang karagdagan, sa Elementary Drum and Lyre Competition, High School Category, Open Category, at Cultural Category. Ito ay bahagi ng pagbubuhos ng higit na kasiglahan at higit pang mga talento sa pagdiriwang, pagtatapos ni Alquiroz.

Sinabi ni Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong na patuloy na umuunlad ang “Panagbenga” continues to evolve where it is worth to bring it’s legacy of transparency and planning where the community is involved further. He encouraged the people to give suggestions or solutions to challenges and set backs as the festival goes on.
Magalong also urged the people to maximize the existing bodies in ensuring the smooth flow of the activities and the festival itself. He said they should approach or be in close touch with the Barangay councils, Peoples Councils and the Youth Development Councils.

Opisyal na magsisimula ang “Panagbenga” sa Pebrero 1 na may pambungad na parada na sinusundan ng iba’t ibang aktibidad sa buong buwang pagdiriwang.
The two major crowd attractions are the “Grand Street Dancing Parade” on February 22 and “Grand Float Parade” on February 23 will highlight the festival, perhaps the country’s most-attended festival.
