PREPPING FOR OPLAN KALULUWA
The city government of Baguio and the Baguio City Police Office met with volunteer groups who submitted their letter of intent to aid uniformed personnel during the observance of All Souls and All Saints Day.
BCPO City Director PCol. Ruel Tagel with Assistant City Administrator Vittorio Jericho Cawis discussed operational procedures with the volunteer group representatives this afternoon to ensure an orderly and peaceful observance of Undas particularly from October 31 to November 2, 2024.
BCPO Focal Person PLTCol. Michelle Pauline Bagayao said over 10 volunteer groups have submitted their letter of intent to help the BCPO in crowd control near cemeteries and other places of convergence by assisting the public as well as tourists.
To improve coordination, the BCPO will conduct another orientation with the volunteer groups and a walkthrough in specific areas of assignment on October 30, 2024.
“We need to ensure control and supervision; and proper communication among all agencies and offices involved in Oplan Kaluluwa including our volunteer groups,” Tagel said.
Aside from public assistance and tourist guidance, there are also volunteer groups on standby for medical and emergency rescue.
Strategic postings will be finalized by the BCPO and cascaded to the identified volunteer groups during the final walkthrough. – JM Samidan
