Social Security System La Union Branch conducted various activities in Naguilian, La Union on August 30, 2024, to expand membership coverage, extend services to members, and raise employers’ awareness of the Social Security Act of 2018.

Account Officers (AOs) from the SSS Accounts Management Section conducted the SSS E-Wheels while medical doctors of the SSS Medical Operations Unit conducted free medical consultations in Brgy. Angin. The other group of AOs implemented the RACE operations, or Run After Contribution Evaders, at the towns’ marketplace.

“Our SSS E-Wheels catered to members who have queries regarding their SSS membership and benefit applications. We also assisted them in the creation of My.SSS account and registration of bank accounts in the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module,” SSS La Union Branch Head Francisco Pentecostes said.

“We are also grateful to the Department of Health (DOH) Region 1 for partnering with us by providing medicines and also to the medical doctors of the Municipal Health Office who teamed up with our own medical doctors in providing health care services to our members during the free medical consultation,” Pentecostes added.

Meanwhile, six erring employers received show-cause orders during the RACE campaign. SSS La Union branch gave them a non-extendible 15 days to comply and settle their delinquencies, totaling P83,697.00. Most of these employers, whose line of businesses includes construction material supply, restaurants, canteens, and beauty salons, did not remit to SSS the contributions of their employees.

“With the success of this one-day activity, we also plan to do the same in the remaining areas under the SSS La Union Branch,” Pentecostes concluded. (PR)
