Aice Ice Cream, the Worldwide Olympic Partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Official Ice Cream of the Philippine Olympic Team and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), honors the athletes who proudly represented the Philippines in the Paris 2024 Olympics through the “Saludo, Atletang Pilipino” Thanksgiving Celebration on September 26, 2024, Thursday.
Double Olympic gold medalist and Philippine gymnastics phenom Carlos Yulo, two-time Olympic boxing medalist Nesthy Petecio, fellow Filipino and two-time Olympian boxer Eumir Marcial, President of Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, Cynthia Carrion, POC Head of Marketing Nikko Huelgas, along with special guests from Lima Land Inc. and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, were given a tour of the Aice factory in Batangas. Later, they were joined by World Vovinam Championship gold medalists Hergie Bacyadan and Joanie Delgaco, the first Filipino female rower to qualify for the Olympics, at the Holiday Inn & Suites LimaPark for a Thanksgiving ceremony.
As part of its commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and spreading happiness, Aice has continuously rallied behind the Olympic athletes, aiming to inspire unity and pride within the Filipino community.
In the months leading up to the Olympics, Aice organized various support initiatives, including a heartfelt send-off that ensured the Filipino athletes felt the love of the nation as they prepared to compete. During the games itself, Aice united fans, consumers, employees, distributors, and resellers to cheer on the athletes, releasing a video following the theme “Run to Paris, Aice! Cheer for Philippine Olympians”. Upon the athletes’ return, Aice launched “Kaice-Saya Kasama: Pasasalamat sa Atletang Pilipino”, a series of Thanksgiving Motorcade Parties. The celebrations honored all the Filipino Olympians, including Yulo, as well as the bronze medalist boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas.
“Salamat din po sa Aice, ang aming official sponsor para sa Paris Olympics. Sa inyong
tiwala at suporta, at sa tulong na ibinibigay niyo, hindi lang sa aming mga atletang Pinoy, kundi sa patuloy na pagsulong ng sports and athletics sa bansa at para sa mga kabataang
nangangarap rin na maging atleta para sa Pilipinas,” said Yulo.
Shereene Yu De Leon, Aice Philippines’ Brand Manager, added, “Our mission has always been to spread happiness through our ice cream and celebrate the incredible spirit of sports. ‘Saludo, Atletang Pilipino’ is a testament to our unwavering support for them throughout their journey, from preparation to their triumphant return home.”
Aice pledged P2,000,000 and a year’s supply of Aice ice cream with freezer to Yulo; P300,000 and one year supply of Aice ice cream with freezer each to Petecio and Villegas for their respective medal victories.
Aice has also rewarded the non-medalist athletes each with a custom-made, pure silver commemorative coin, engraved with their initials along with Aice, POC logo, and the word Paris Olympics 2024.
Aice also committed, “In the future, Aice Philippines will continue to support the development of Philippine sports and will establish a sports motivation fund with the Philippine Olympic Committee and the Philippine Sports Commission. Aice will invest at least 1 million pesos each year for youth sports development and athlete rewards, to let more Filipinos be interested in sports and fall in love with sports.”
Aice has introduced over 30 ice cream flavors in the Philippines, featuring crowd favorites such as Chocolate Crispy, Mochi Ice Cream, Coffee Macchiato, Sundae Cups, and Cones. In addition, new products like Sorbetes Creamy Keso Time and ice cream tubs have been launched to meet the growing demand of Filipino consumers, catering to their tastes and ensuring they get exactly what they want.
Aice is committed to celebrating the achievements of Filipino athletes and fostering a sense of national pride. The “Saludo, Atletang Pilipino” Thanksgiving Celebration is a heartfelt acknowledgment that the dreams of Filipino athletes can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and passion, and of course, the support of the Filipino people.
