As rainfall intensifies in Benguet following its declaration under typhoon signal number 1 by PAG-ASA, Network Services Department (NSD)manager Ramel Rifani declared BENECOโ€™s blue-alert status at 7: 52 PM of September 2.

Rifani also activated BENECOโ€™s ERP team prompting โ€œall concerned departments, units, and personnel are instructed to prepare the needed manpower and logistics, to be ready for immediate dispatch.โ€

The alert status may be raised to red alert anytime if necessary. 

BENECOโ€™s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) engineers will continue monitoring the weather bulletin updates.

While the NSD, where the SCADA is located becomes the Command Center that will be closely monitored by the National Electrification Administration (NEA) Digital Dashboard Command Center in Quezon City.

Rifani strongly recommended proactive measures be undertaken by all concerned personnel. In case the typhoonโ€™s intensity becomes life-threatening, Rifani reminded all personnel to ensure first the safety of their families. #
