The PRO-CAR’s continuous implementation of the intensified anti-criminality campaign led to the arrest of 35 wanted personalities, while 56 municipalities across the region were declared crime-free from August 16-22, 2024.
According to reports submitted to the PRO-CAR Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, Baguio City Police Office (CPO) and Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) recorded the highest number of arrests, with 14 wanted persons apprehended each, followed by Ifugao PPO with five arrests, and Abra PPO and Mountain Province PPO with one arrest each.
Of the arrested wanted personalities, six were identified as the Most Wanted Persons (MWP) listed at the Provincial Level.
Moreover, as a result of the intensified police visibility and other law enforcement operations, 56 municipalities across the region recorded zero crime incidents. These include 23 municipalities in Abra, nine municipalities in Ifugao, eight municipalities each in Benguet and Mountain Province, five municipalities in Apayao, and three municipalities in Kalinga, while in Baguio City, Police Station (PS) 1, PS3, PS4, PS5, PS7, and PS8 also recorded zero crime incidents.
In addition, the anti-criminality campaign
contributed to a 4.02% decrease in the Peace and Order Indicator (POl) and a 1.36% reduction in the average weekly crime rate compared to the same period last year.
Further, PRO-CAR officers also demonstrated exceptional performance in crime clearance and resolution, achieving a 10.94% crime clearance efficiency and an 18.42% crime solution efficiency. (PRO-CAR, PIO /File Photos
