BAGUIO CITY – SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Rolando Ledesma Macasaet signed the Memorandum of Agreement with Baguio City Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong for the coverage of 525 Job Order (JO) and Contract Service (COS) workers of the City Government of Baguio under the SSS flagship program – KaSSSanga Collect Program Program or KCP.
The SSS continues to provide social security protection by expanding its membership coverage to Jos and COS government workers not covered by the Government Service Insurance System.
Under the KCP, JO and COS workers of the National Government Agencies (NGAs) Local Government Units (LGUs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and Local Water Districts (LWD) will be registered as Self-Employed members.
SSS Contributions of these JO and COS workers shall be collected through a salary deduction scheme by the City Government and remitted to SSS Baguio. The amount of contribution shall depend on the Monthly Salary Credit which is the compensation base for contributions and benefits related to the total monthly earnings of the worker. The minimum contribution is P570.00 while the maximum is P4,230.00
These workers shall be entitled to various social security benefits in times of contingencies such as sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death, and funeral.
As self-employed members, they may also avail additional benefits under the Employees Compensation Program for work-related sickness, injuries, and death.
They may also qualify for loan privileges like salary and calamity loans.
They may also opt to enroll and invest in the retirement savings scheme, the MySSS Pension Booster. ###
