MarSU Litera joins Celebration of National Language and History Month
Boac, Marinduque – The Marinduque State University (MarSU) Litera organization has participated during the general assembly of College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) Language Enthusiasts Society and Communication Society recently this month. With the task of re-organizing and reaccrediting the formerly Marinduque State College Litera Club established as early as 2013 but officially recognized as an accredited student organization of the then School of Arts Sciences under the auspices and patronage of the English Society with Arts and Social Student Organization in 2018.
MarSU Litera displayed their output throughout the years including the Balangaw, Malikhain, Likhai, Gintong Barko, Gintong Baka, Prison Lingo, Fisheries Lexicon, Nagsasariling Araling Filipino, Marinduque Tagalog Dictionary and Ano raw? Munting Diksyunaryo ng Silangan at Kanlurang Marindukehin. They recently attended the Atimonan Book Fair last August 4 in Quezon featuring MarinduQuezon and Tatlumpo’t Isang Tula.
So far, the Language Enthusiasts Society of the BA English Language Studies have gathered their BA ELS students from freshman to senior level to amend and update their constitution from last year to mark the transition to universityhood. Likewise, the Communication Society was in full force with the BA Communication students from the first to fourth year to enrich and enhance their by-laws. The MarSU Litera have showcased their works to encourage new members and officers for the upcoming Philippine Creative Industries Month.
In the meantime, the MarSU Litera will be attending the Art of Poetry discussion and workshop at the National Museum – Marinduque and Romblon Area on August 19 with their founding adviser Dr. Randy Nobleza. In addition, along with his students who are taking up Foreign Language and Pop Culture is manifesting and materializing Island Studies and Creative Hub with the proposed Moryonan, Tubong and Kalutang Triannale and ICH Trifecta Marinduque. Dr. Nobleza will also be launching his monograph series based on his dissertation about autonomous Philippine Studies at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Manila on August 27, he will take part in the launch of Pangayaw: Decolonizing resistance in the Philippines at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman the following day of Kapwa-Tulungan sa UP Diliman. Finally, the MarSU Litera adviser would be attending the 11th Local Historical Committees Network assembly sponsored by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines. (PR)
