Reported missing persons accounted for – City Police

All missing persons reported to the Baguio City Police Office have been accounted for and are now back with their families.

Acting Public Information Officer PMaj. Harriet Bulcio told the Ugnayang Panlungsod on July 23, 2024 that a total of 18 missing persons had been reported to the department from January to July 2024.

She said all of them were found safe and are now reunited with their families.

In her report, Bulcio said most of the missing individuals were runaways leaving their homes to be with friends or partners or due to conflicts with their families.

She allayed fears that these individuals were victims of kidnapping or other crimes stoked by the spate of reported incidents.

As truancy appears to be the main reason for these incidents, the BCPO headed by P Col Francisco Bulwayan Jr. appealed to parents to strengthen their relationships with their children and ensure their security to address problems on juvenile delinquency.

The department assured the public that they are doing their best to investigate and resolve all reported incidents with urgency.

Last year for the same period, the department had 26 cases of missing persons, all of whom had also been found safe. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
