BCU faculty, students lauded for winning in 2 international conferences

City officials recently congratulated and commended Baguio Central University (BCU) faculty and students for their triumphs in two prestigious international conferences co-hosted by several institutions.

In a resolution, local legislators stated that the city government is proud of the aforesaid accolades garnered by BCU faculty and students that solidify their commitment and encourage everyone to always be at their best.

During the 5th International Research Conference held at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman campus last June 22-23, 2024, BCU participants shone brightly and brought home a multitude of awards.

Further, BCU led by its president Dr. Margarita Cecilda B. Rillera, Dr. Elma Donaal, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Ms. Amalia F. Ancheta, Vice President for Finance, was recognized as an Outstanding Institutional Partner.

BCU participants garnered awards from different categories led by faculty member Edna P. Culbongan – first place research paper and second place oral presenter on education; faculty member Cherie Mae Manuel – second best research paper and second best oral presenter on leadership and skills; student Czarina T. Mendoza-Teneza – first place research paper and best oral presenter on science and student Manilyn D. Bolitas – first place research paper and best oral presenter on management.

At the International Conference on Research and Exhibits on Aviation and Aeronautics, Tourism, Engineering and Education held at WCC Aeronautical and Technological College in Binalonan, Pangasinan, the pair of BCU faculty Michael Sebullen and Dr. Janice D. Alejandrino, Dean of the College of Business Administration, garnered the Best paper Award on Finance and Dr. Genevieve Balance Kupang, Dean of the Graduate School, garnered the Best Paper Award and Best Oral Presenter on Social Science.
