UC student artists commended

City officials recently congratulated and commended the University of the Cordilleras Center for Creative Production (UC-CCP) student artists for being an awardee and winning the Pride of Place Award during the Aliwan Festival held at Pasay City last June 29, 2024.

In a resolution, local legislators stated that the achievement of the UC-CCP student artists not only showcased their personal excellence but also brought honor and pride to the city.

Further, the UC-CCP student artists demonstrated unparalleled dedication and excellence culminating in the prestigious attainment of Pride of Place Award in the Aliwan festival held in Pasay City last June 29, 2024.

The council claimed that UC-CCP’s historic achievement marks a monumental milestone in the journey of the student artists, symbolizing the culmination of tireless effort, unwavering commitment and extraordinary culturalism.

Moreover, the council added that the success of UC-CCP student artists under Peejay Natiola as Director and Kurt Alalag and Marvin Chumanew as trainers in the said national competition stands as a shining testament to the transformative power and fostering unity, cultural appreciation and artistic expression.

The UC-CCP student artists performed the city’s Panagbenga Flower Festival during the streetdance competition during the annual Aliwan Festival held in Pasay City. The upbeat dance steps, stunning costumes and lively choreographies wowed the audience and earned the approval and admiration of the judges.

The criteria for the streetdance category included theme concept 35 percent, choreography – 30 percent, performance – 20 percent and costumes – 15 percent.
