Winners in PAF arnis tournament hailed

City officials recently congratulated and commended the winners during the Philippine Air Force Invitational Arnis Tournament.

In a resolution, local legislators stated that the local government recognizes and commend the exemplary achievement and performance of the local athletes, together with their coaches, Andre Dean D. Foman-eg – head coach, Princelle Gabriela Foman-eg – assistant coach, and Karl Mico D. Alangui – supervising coach, as they manifested that Baguio City is a sports center and truly a home of champions.

Earlier, the first-ever Philippine Air Force Invitational Arnis Tournament was conducted on June 7-9, 2024 at the Villamor Air Base Elementary School and Col. Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

Among the contenders were Arinsadors from Baguio City who ended up victorious in their respective divisions and categories during the said competition.

In the any category senior division, James Glysm Aliga won the gold medal for the anyo seniors men double weapon, Izy Pobletin garnered the silver medal for the anyo seniors women single weapon, Marion Lopez snared the gold medal for the anyo seniors women double weapon, and Keru Evince B. Koziej won the bronze medal for the anyo seniors men double weapon.

In the full contact padded stick women seniors division, Izy Pobletin, and Angelyn Datuin won gold medals and Khloe Directo and Marion Lopez garnered bronze medals.

In the full contact padded stick senior men’s division, Bernardo Torres garnered the gold medal, Glysm Aliga won three silver medals, Takuya Wad and Xhedrick Mendoza won bronze medals.

Chloe Villanueva emerged as bronze medalist in the full contact padded stick women junior’s division while Yumi Ventura settled for silver in the full contact padded stick women elementary-kid division.
