City mourns passing of former barangay official

Mayor Benjamin Magalong ratified city council resolution no. 431, series of 2024, expressing the city’s deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the late Andres ‘Andy’ S. Ricerra Jr., former barangay kagawad and punong barangay of Gabriela Silang barangay.

The approved measure also extends the Summer Capital’s appreciation for his invaluable contributions to the community.

It revealed that Ricerra served said barangay as kagawad from 1994 to 2007 and 2010 to 2013; and as punong barangay from 2007 to 2010 and 2013 to 2016.

“His unwavering dedication to public service over the years has resulted in the implementation of various programs, projects and improvements that have significantly benefited the barangay,” the resolution stated.

It added: “Ricerra’s tireless efforts and invaluable contributions are deeply appreciated and his passing is a profound loss not only to his family and friends but especially to the residents of Gabriela Silang barangay whom he served with great commitment, and to the city of Baguio as a whole.”

“His steadfast commitment to public service and his support for the initiatives and activities of both the barangay and the city deserve recognition and heartfelt appreciation,” the measure stressed. – Gaby B. Keith
