TWO FORMER CTG MEMBERS VOLUNTARILY SURRENDER IN MOUNTAIN PROVINCE AND BENGUET

Two individuals who have been identified as members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered themselves to PRO-CAR cops in Mountain Province and Benguet on July 15, 2024.

In Mountain Province, a 41-year-old male identified as a former NPA in the Barrio (Militia ng Bayan) member under KLG Marco voluntarily surrendered to the joint operatives of Sadanga Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Intelligence Unit of Mountain Province Police Provincial Office and the 1st and 2nd Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).

During his surrender, he also turned over to the authorities a firearm described as a Caliber .22 revolver Smith and Wesson with no ammunition.

Meanwhile in Benguet, a 67-year-old male identified as a former NPA in the Barrio member under KLG Ifugao also voluntarily surrendered after a series of negotiations by the joint operatives of 1st Benguet PMFC, Buguias MPS, Mankayan MPS, and the 1502nd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15).

Both surrenderers were brought to the custody of the respective lead unit in charge for proper documentation and custodial debriefing.

This accomplishment is a result of the intensified reintegration efforts of the government for former rebels under the “Task Force Balik-Loob” program and the intensified campaign on the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) under Executive Order 70 to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).
