PRO-CAR CONFISCATES OVER P1.4M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS AND ARRESTS 4 DRUG PERSONALITIES IN 1-DAY DRUG OPS

The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) confiscates illegal drugs with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP1,413,536.00 and arrests four drug personalities in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted in Apayao, Benguet, and Kalinga on July 16, 2024.

In Apayao, the Pasindayaw cops from the different units of the Apayao Police Provincial Office (PPO), along with the Regional Intelligence Unit-14 (RIU-14), and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15), arrested a 60-year-old male, listed as the No. 5 Most Wanted Person in the Provincial Level for the 3rd Quarter of 2024, for the implementation of a warrant of arrest for violating RA 9165.

In Benguet, operatives from the La Trinidad MPS, PIU, and PDEU of the Benguet PPO responded to a report from a concerned citizen about an ongoing drug session in Puguis, La Trinidad. This led to the arrest of two males, aged 33 and 36, both listed as Street Level Individuals (SLI), and the confiscation of 0.22 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of Php1,496.00.

In Kalinga, the Lumin-awa cops from the different units of the Kalinga PPO, together with the Regional Intelligence Division, RMFB15, and PDEA-Kalinga, conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old male, listed as SLI, and the seizure of approximately 0.3 grams of suspected shabu with a SDP of Php2,040.00 in Sitio Daya, Nambaran, Tabuk City.

The confiscated evidence was brought to the concerned units for documentation and proper disposition. The arrested suspects will face charges for violating RA 9165.

In Benguet, the Cabalyero cops from the different units of Benguet PPO, along with operatives of RIU-14 and PDEA-CAR, conducted a marijuana eradication operation in Sitio Bangao, Brgy Kayapa, Bakun, and Sitio Nan-angan, Brgy. Badeo, Kibungan, led to the discovery of 2,050 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) worth PhP410,000.00.

Similarly, in Kalinga, operatives of Tinglayan MPS, PIU, PDEU of Kalinga PPO, 1st and 2nd Kalinga PMFC, and PDEA-CAR conducted a marijuana operation in Brgy. Loccong, Tinglayan, resulted in the discovery of 5,000 pieces of FGMJP with an SDP of Php1,000,000.00.

All the discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and incinerated on-site, with an adequate number of samples collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR. Meanwhile, operatives are diligently pursuing ongoing investigations to identify additional marijuana cultivation sites and apprehend potential cultivators in the area. (PRO-CAR PIO /File Photos)
