The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) upholds the PNP’s mission by ensuring a peaceful Cordillera region through the arrest of seven wanted individuals and the discovery of over P7 million worth of marijuana plants in separate operations conducted from July 6 to 9, 2024.
In Brgy. Sacpil, Conner, Apayao, a 39-year-old male identified as the No. 2 Regional Most Wanted Person, was arrested by operatives from the different units of Apayao PPO, Regional Intelligence Division RID, RMFB15, and Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU14) for charges involving Sexual Assault and Rape.
In Baguio City, a 24-year-old male, listed as No. 4 Top Most Wanted Person (TMWP) at the Regional level in the 3rd Quarter CY 2024 for the crime of Stututory Rape, was arrested by joint operatives of BCPO, Regional Intelligence Division, and RIU-14 in Honeymoon Road.
Moreover, another individual identified as a 27-year-old male, listed as No.3 TMWP at the Regional Level in the 3rd Quarter CY 2024, was apprehended by the operatives of BCPO, RIU-14, and RMFB15 for the crime of Statutory Rape in Brgy. Tiptop, Ambuklao Road, Baguio City.
Also, continuous surveillance and a civilian tip-off led to the arrest of a 28-year-old male, listed as the No. 10 Top Most Wanted Person at the Regional Level in the 3rd Quarter CY 2024, for the crime of Robbery with Homicide arrested in Northern Samar, Visayas, by joint operatives from the different units of Benguet PPO, BCPO, RIU-14, RID, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), and Quezon City Police District.
Further, Alfonso Lista Ifugao, a 58-year-old male, listed as the No. 5 Regional Most Wanted Person, was arrested by joint operatives of Ifugao PPO and RIU-14 in pursuance of warrants issued for charges related to Statutory Rape.
Simultaneously, in Mountain Province, a male listed as the No. 6 Regional Most Wanted Person was arrested in a joint operation conducted by the different units of Mountain Province PPO, RID, RIU-14, and RMFB-15 in pursuance to warrants issued for charges related to qualified Rape.
Also, in Brgy. Bulanao, Kalinga, the joint efforts of the 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, PIU, Tabuk City Police Station, BCPO led to the arrest of a 23-year-old male for the same violation of RA 9262.
All suspects were brought to the custody of their respective operating units for documentation and proper disposition.
Meanwhile, the collaborative efforts of Lumin-awa cops in curbing illegal drugs in the province resulted in the discovery of 38,200 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with an estimated Standard Drug Price of PhP7,640,000.00 found in Tinglayan, Kalinga.
The said marijuana eradication was conducted by joint operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Kalinga PPO, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, the 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Special Action Force, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. The operation led to the discovery of two marijuana plantation sites in Brgy. Loccong, Tinglayan
All the discovered marijuana plants were burned after proper documentation, while follow-up operations are underway to locate other marijuana plantation sites and cultivators. (PRO-CAR PIO /File Photos)
