The relentless efforts of the Lumin-awa Police of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) in curbing marijuana cultivation in the province have led to the discovery of marijuana plants worth over P4 million in a marijuana eradication operation conducted in Tinglayan, Kalinga, on July 6, 2024.
According to reports submitted by the Provincial Director of Kalinga PPO, PCOL GIBERT A FATI-IG, joint operatives of the 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency launched the operation that led to the discovery of a marijuana plantation site in Brgy. Loccong, Tinglayan. The plantation site, with an area of 1,850 square meters, was planted with 22,200 fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of PhP4,440,000.00.
Upon discovery, operatives uprooted and burned the marijuana plants on-site, with sufficient samples submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR for further analysis.
This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the Lumin-awa cops and their collaborative partners to eliminate the menace of illegal drugs in our communities. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for their cultivation. (PRO-CAR PIO / File Photos)
