Mayor to negotiate with Wright Park vendors on rental terms

The city council passed resolution no. 326, series of 2024, authorizing Mayor Benjamin Magalong, representing the city government, to negotiate with members of the Wright Park Vendors Association (WPVA) as locators/concessionaires at Wright Park, here.

It further authorizes the Mayor to eventually sign an agreement establishing the rights and obligations of both parties.

The approved measure states that the Mayor is allowed to negotiate with the WPVA for the revision of the agreement entered into by and between the parties concerned, and to incorporate the matter relative to back rentals or arrears, if any.

It adds that the agreement shall be submitted to the local legislature for confirmation.

Considered by the august body is the position paper, dated April 22, 2024, by Atty. Ryan James Solano, WPVA counsel, regarding the notice to pay issued by the city treasurer’s office demanding payment of lot rental from members of the association.

In her letter dated April 22, this year, city legal officer Atty. Althea Rosanna Alberto proposed to the city council the adoption of a resolution authorizing the Mayor, on behalf of the city, to execute the contract of lease with the locators/concessionaires at Wright Park so that parties could agree on justifiable, reasonable and acceptable terms. – Gaby B.
