LUMIN-AWA COPS DISCOVER OVER P3M WORTH OF MARIJUANA PLANTS IN TINGLAYAN, KALINGA
The continuous search of the Lumin-awa cops of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) for clandestine marijuana plantation sites in the province of Kalinga resulted in the discovery of more than P3M worth of marijuana plants in the municipality of Tinglayan on May 18, 2024.
According to Kalinga PPO, the joint operatives of 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and PDEA-Kalinga discovered a total of 16,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of Php3,200,000.00 in two marijuana plantation sites in Brgy Butbut Proper.
All these marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite, with sufficient samples taken to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit, while operatives are currently conducting an intensive investigation to identify the cultivators and searching adjacent areas for potential marijuana plantation sites.
The PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, commended the efforts and hard work of the operatives to discover large-scale marijuana plantations as this signifies their resolute commitment to bring those who are involved in its cultivation and distribution to justice.
