Hedcor, the renewable energy asset manager of AboitizPower, bolsters Sablan’s Orchard Farm with P620,000 worth of equipment and seedlings donations — boosting the municipality as the Fruit Basket of Benguet.
Hedcor supports the agricultural activities in the orchard farm, aimed to showcase the best produce and practices, and innovative techniques of the municipality which farmers and agricultural practitioners alike can learn about.
The donation includes a tractor, power sprayer, and other essential agricultural machinery. These tools are designed to streamline farming processes, increase yields, and improve overall farm management practices. Sablan’s Office of Municipal Agriculture identified more than 2,400 seedlings that were given such as lanzones, mangosteen, marang, and pineapple slips to name a few.
“We not only invest in the municipality’s agricultural potential but also empower local farmers with the tools they need to thrive. This initiative reflects Hedcor’s commitment to sustainable development and community prosperity,” said Rolando Pacquiao, Hedcor President and COO.
Mayor Alfredo Dacumos Jr. of Sablan said, “The partnership between Hedcor and Sablan underscores our shared vision of driving positive change that signifies our strong stand to long-term growth and empowerment to the people of Sablan.”
Hedcor maintains its dedication to supporting its host communities and advocating for sustainable development initiatives that generate enduring positive impacts. Through collaborations and community initiatives, Hedcor continues in advancing the socio-economic progress of the areas it serves. #(PR)
