Camdas creative nook backed anew

City officials recently authorized the conduct of various creative activities organized by the Baguio Arts and Crafts Collective, Inc. (BACCI) and the Mobile-Oriented Valuable Entrepreneurship (MOVE) from January 22 to march 3, 2024 at Camdas barangay in support of the “2600 The Creative Decentralization,’ dubbed The ‘District Ocho 2600: Pop Up Food Street and Creative nook’ launch.

Under Resolution No. 049, series of 2024, local legislators stated organizers of the said event shall secure the necessary documents and permits from the local government for the implementation of the said project and shall strictly abide by all the regulations and terms of the city.

Aligned with the city’s designation as a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Creative City for Folk Arts and Crafts, reputable organizations such as the BACCI and the MOVE have initiated creative undertakings in the city and proposed the implementation of different activities focusing on District 8.

The District Ocho2600: Pop Up Food Street and Creative Nook launch in support of the project entitled ‘ 2600 The Creative Decentralization’ as authorized in Barangay Resolution No. 02, series of 2024 of Camdas barangay will benefit the people and the barangay and other barangays in District 8 in terms of trainings, seminars, livelihood, barangay beautification, and establishing the barangays as venues for possible creative events without devaluing present policies and businesses.

The events to be conducted from January 22 to March 3, 2024 at various areas in Camdas are the Pop-up food street; activities on the vacant wall of the Lucban Elementary School and creative and livelihood seminars and workshops at the barangay multipurpose hall.

The council stipulated that the said activity is supported by other organizations such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Baguio-Benguet office, Crafter’s Association, Pasakal

ye Artist Group and Baguio-based independent artists and creative entrepreneurs.

Earlier, organizers committed to provide direct assistance for the livelihood program of the constituents of the barangays within District 8 primarily for organized groups of women, men, youth, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens. – Dexter A. See
