1st Cordillera Chocolate Festival
The Cordillera Cacao Industry Development Council invites the public to support and participate in the celebration of the first Cordillera Chocolate Festival to be held at the Benguet State University closed gym in La Trinidad, Benguet, on February 14 and 15, 2024.
The festival will be hosted by Dulche Chocolates Inc., a start-up funded by the DOST-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development through the Women Helping Women: Innovating Social Enterprises Program.
Highlighting the initiative titled “Project Sweet PH C: Standardization of Ways in Enhancing and Establishing Techniques in Processing Highland Cacao”, there will be an exhibit and sale of cacao chocolate products from different cacao processors in the Cordillera.
It will also feature the best tablea, the best 70% dark chocolate, the largest cacao pod, the heaviest cacao pod, and the cacao pod with the most number of beans.
Other activities include the presentation of the terminal report of Project SWEET PH-C, the distribution of the cacao protocol manual to cacao growers and processors, and talks and presentations from different cacao advocates.
There will also be a distribution of pruning shears and pruning saws on Thursday. (PR)
