CALOOCAN CITY, Feb. 24 (PIA) — Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has expressed willingness and is now ready to be vaccinated using the Sinovac vaccine from China.

Domagoso has informed the Manila City Council (MCC), led by Vice Mayor Maria Sheilah ‘Honey’ Lacuna-Pangan, that with the country’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) giving Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to Sinovac, he is now ready and willing to be vaccinated using the Beijing-based biopharmaceutical company’s COVID-19 vaccine.

The mayor of the nation’s capital has met the city council to personally inform its members of the readiness of the city government in the rollout of the first vaccine available in the city.

This comes just moments after the FDA announced that it had already granted emergency approval for the Sinovac vaccine.

He said the city will use whatever vaccine is certified and given an EUA by the FDA.

He also reminded residents that they have the right to be choosy and wait for the vaccine that they may prefer.

“Anuman ang bakuna, basta sertipikado at may EUA ng FDA, gagamitin natin. May karapatan kayong maging choosy. Pwede kayo maghintay ng bakunang type ninyo. Pero para sa akin, basta may EUA gagamitin po natin,” Domagoso said. (PIA NCR)
