Baguio receives P15.9M for Philhealth Konsulta package services
No less than Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Rufino Ledesma Jr. turned over a check worth P15,976,299.15 to the city government of Baguio as one of the pilot implementers of the agency’s Konsultasyong Sulit At Tama (KONSULTA) package.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong received the check from Ledesma Regional Vice President Dr. Dominga Gadgad on December 1, 2023 as the first tranche of PhilHealth’s Primary Care Provider Network Konsulta Sandbox.
Baguio City is among the five local government units to form a Primary Care Provider Network under the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, which will integrate their resources and services into a network under the Sandbox setting for a more effective delivery of primary care services through PhilHealth’s Konsulta.
Mayor Magalong expressed gratitude to the PHIC for the support given to the city of Baguio. He said that the funds given will be very helpful to the residents of Baguio who are in need.
As a Konsulta Sandbox, PhilHealth committed a total amount of P66,500,000 for the implementation of UHC in the city through the accredited district health centers.
Out of the 16 district health centers in Baguio, 13 were already accredited to provide Konsulta package and can now render individual-based health services including initial and follow-up primary care consultations, health screening and assessment and access to selected diagnostic services and medicines.
PhilHealth members should register to the nearest district health center near their residency to be able to avail of the benefits of Konsulta package such as consultation and case management, provision of preventive health, assisting eligible beneficiaries in assessing services in partner facilities, and referral to specialty or higher level of care.
There are also 13 laboratory tests that can be availed of including complete blood count (CBC) CBC with platelet count, urinalysis, fecalysis, sputum microscopy, and fecal occult blood. – JMPS
