City’s support urged for GAD-related indie films

In a letter dated October 2, 2023 to Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Baguio office head Millicent Carino, furnished the city’s Chief Executive a copy of an Advisory from DILG Undersecretary Margarita Gutierrez on the EdukSine’s Gender and Development (GAD)-related Indie films.

The EdukSine is a Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-funded hybrid streaming platform and social enterprise that showcases educational and socially-relevant films through online, face-to-face and hybrid block screening in schools, government offices, and companies from the cities up to mountainous and coastal villages across the Philippines.

The project is a social enterprise that believes in the transformative impact of relevant and responsive education through film, culture and the arts, Carino’s letter disclosed.

“In this regard, we enjoin the participation of the city government of Baguio and all barangays to support the EdukSine by including said GAD-related Indie films to its GAD campaign. Your support is highly appreciated,” it stressed. – Gaby B. Keith
