SEC Awards 28 Registration Certificates to DSWD FO1 Beneficiaries, Promoting Empowerment and Financial Inclusion
The Securities and Exchange Commission – Baguio Extension Office (SEC – BAGEO), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1 (DSWD FO1) proudly announces the successful completion of the registration process of 28 Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) corporations, through the Sulong SEC Express, an all in business-one-stop shop which aims to formally register SLP corporations with the SEC; and capacitate both beneficiaries and program implementers on sustaining and developing established corporations.
The 28 corporations were awarded their respective SEC Certificates of Incorporation, signifying their official recognition as registered entities, enabling them to embark on their entrepreneurial ventures and contribute meaningfully to the economy. This milestone event took place on October 3, during the SLP Regional Congress held in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
The SEC, as the primary regulatory body for corporations, worked closely with the DSWD FO1 to streamline the registration process for the beneficiaries. By simplifying procedures and providing assistance at every step, the SEC-BAGEO ensured a smooth and efficient registration experience. This collaboration presents a positive example of how different government agencies can work together to empower vulnerable groups and uplift their economic status.
“Through the Sulong SEC Express, we were able to expedite their registration in just one day. Prior to that, we trained them on how to prepare their reports and compliances, how to protect their investment, sustain good business practices as well as financial literacy,” said Rogerio Bismonte, partnership officer of the DSWD FO1.
Through this initiative, the SEC – BAGEO and DSWD FO1 continue to reinforce their commitment to fostering financial inclusion and empowering marginalized communities.
“By providing legal recognition and support to SLP corporations, we aim to assist them in their access to market opportunities and financial services,” said Atty. Regina May Cajucom – De Guzman, SEC – BAGEO Director.
The SEC-BAGEO will continue to monitor and support their progress, providing guidance and assistance as required.
The SEC – BAGEO and DSWD FO1 recognize the immense potential of these beneficiaries to contribute to the local economy and create employment opportunities. By providing them with the necessary tools and resources, the SEC-BAGEO aims to empower them to become self-sufficient and active participants in the business landscape.### (PR)
