Mayor asks PBs to remove ‘eyesores’; assures them of city’s support

Mayor Benjamin Magalong expressed his profuse gratitude to the Summer Capital’s barangay officials who continue to actively cooperate in the implementation of the city’s ordinances and directives.

He also assured them of the city government’s full support to their various programs that would be beneficial to their constituents.

“Just get in touch with us. Let me just emphasize that the city’s support has nothing to do with politics, whatsoever,” the Mayor said during his meeting with the village officials, Sept. 8, at City Hall.

He reminded them, however, to continue monitoring their respective jurisdictions and to remove or take down ‘eyesores’ like dilapidated tarpaulins and signages since these are not aesthetically pleasing to look at.

The Mayor asked the punong barangays to report any decaying or rusting appliances that were left in front of houses so that these can immediately be picked up by the city’s garbage trucks.

He added that they should advise owners of vehicles not already being used but were just abandoned to rust to sell these to those dealing with scrap metals since these are also eyesores.

Should there be any large rocks or any other ‘safety hazards’ like debris on roads located in their respective areas, the Mayor requested that they remove or dispose of these since road safety is “our priority”.

If they cannot do so, Magalong told the village heads to immediately report the matter to the city “and we will immediately take charge”. – Gaby B. Keith
