PROCOR performed “Drop, Cover, and Hold” and participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)
Personnel assigned at the Regional Headquarters performed “Drop, Cover, and Hold”, as they participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet, on June 8, 2023.
The NSED started at exactly 9:00 a.m. with the sound of the Siren, simulating an actual earthquake.
Immediately after, personnel calmly but quickly walked outside their respective offices and proceeded to the parade ground for accounting.
After the drill, critiques and post-assessments were given by the Marshalls, PLT JAYSON JINGGOY RUPINTA and PCPT JOVELYN AWINGAN, they reminded police officers to be alert and follow the existing emergency plan and contingency protocols.
Also, the Chief of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (RCADD), PCOL BYRON TEGUI-IN, and the Chief of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID), PCOL MARVIN DIPLAT, recalled their past experiences with the 1990 earthquake and reiterated the importance of the presence of mind, especially during an earthquake.
Also, the Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., in his guidance thanked the police officers for their participation and reminded them to remember and put in their hearts the 3 A’s, which stand for Alertness, Awareness, and Adjustment for their safety during calamities.
The NSED is being conducted to test the efficiency and usefulness of the response and recovery plans, systems,s and policies and to evaluate the effectiveness of the contingency plan, coordination, and communication mechanisms during emergency and disaster operations of PROCOR. (PROCOR-PIO)
