PROCOR COPS net P21.8 M worth of illegal drugs in a week-long operation

As a result of the continuous anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the Cordillera Region, PROCOR cops have confiscated over Php 21.8 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested two (2) drug personalities in a week-long drug operation from April 30 to May 6, 2023.

Citing the records from the Regional Operations Division (ROD), a total of 12, 980 pieces of Fully-Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP), 120,000 grams of Marijuana Stalks, 1,060 pieces of Marijuana Seedlings and 40,002 grams of Dried Marijuana Leaves and Fruiting Tops with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 21, 838, 640.00 were recovered in the province of Benguet.

Also, the same report disclosed that a total of 1.49 grams of shabu with an overall SDP of Php 10,132.00 were confiscated from the two drug personalities who were arrested in a separate buy-bust operation in Baguio City.

The arrested suspects, who were identified as Edison Caras, 29, and Emelyn Tabisola, 40, are now facing charges for violating the provisions of R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the confiscated marijuana plants and seedlings were burned on-site by operating units.
