KaLIPI recognized for GAPAS award
City officials congratulated and commended the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KaLIPI) of Baguio City for garnering the Gawad sa Paglilingkod sa Sambayanan (GAPAS) Award as the best people’s organization during the 72nd founding anniversary celebration of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
In a resolution authored by Councilor Lilia A. Fariñas, local legislators stated that the DSWD continues to strive to give recognition to local governments which are considered as models in implementing social welfare and development programs in the hope that they will serve as incentives to encourage more local governments to improve their systems for the efficient and effective delivery of their programs and services.
In grateful recognition for its unwavering support and outstanding contributions on women empowerment in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) last year, the KALIPI in Baguio City was bestowed the GAPAS Award as Best People’s Organization during the 72nd founding anniversary celebration of the DSWD.
To encourage local government units to effectively implement social welfare and development initiatives, the DSWD bestowed the aforesaid award to model local governments.
The annual GAPAS Award is integrated under the Pagkilala sa Natatanging Kontribusyon sa Bayan (PaNATA Ko sa Bayan) Awards given during the agency’s anniversary celebration. By Dexter A. See
