Clean, clean, clean – Mayor
Mayor Benjamin Magalong urged residents to make cleanliness a way of life.
After the weather improved with the exit of typhoon “Paeng” last Nov. 8, the mayor urged barangay officials and residents to launch their own community clean-up activities to put not only their homes but their entire barangays.
Amid the inclement weather, the mayor went around the city last Nov. 7 to inspect damages caused by the strong winds and rains and noted areas considered as eyesores in some barangays.
“There are lots of unsightly areas in our barangays that we need to remove or transform and I am calling on the barangays to address them. The typhoon left considerable debris and litter in our barangays and we must help each other restore the cleanliness in our community,” he said.
He made the same appeal to business establishment owners who he said should also take charge of the upkeep of their frontages and surroundings.
“Magtulong-tulong po tayo sa paglilinis matapos itong bagyo. Para po ito sa ating syudad at para na rin sa ating kalusugan at pangkalahatang kaayusan. Maraming salamat po,” the mayor said. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
