Former member of KLG formally surrendered to the authorities in Camp Geronimo Montes, Bontoc

A former member of Kilusang Larangang Guerilla (KLG) – Marco has officially withdrawn his support to the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and surrendered to the authorities in Camp Geronimo Montes, Bontoc Mountain Province.

During his formal surrender, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR accepted the rebel returnee, who worked under the East Chico Line of KLG – Marco. Said rebel returnee is also listed in the quarterly Periodic Status Report on Threat Groups (PSRTG) in the Cordillera.

As part of his surrender, an M1 Garand Rifle with 4 Clips and 13 ammunition were handed over to PBGEN BAZAR and PCOL REY DE PERALTA, Provincial Director of Mt. Province PPO.

In return, PBGEN BAZAR handed over cash assistance to the rebel returnee as an initial aid as he start to live a normal life.

The rebel returnee was also endorsed to the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Livelihood Integrated Program (ECLIP). (PROCOR-PIO/ File Photos)
