City Mayor’s Office executive assistant III Angelina Puzon said the members will be serving without any remuneration for the period 2022 to 2025 and that the criteria in their selection are their knowledge and expertise; advocacy for transformation; integrity; exemplified leadership and proven record in transparency and good governance.

“The council is a volunteer committee that shall assume a role that is advisory in nature and will play a significant  part in ensuring that the objectives set out in the city’s 7 point core agenda will be fully established and realized as envisioned,” she said.

It will also act as a channel for networks (individuals and organizations) that can help find solutions to pressing issues faced by the city, Puzon added.

The city’s 7 point core agenda are: 1. Environment, land use and energy; 2. Climate and disaster resilience; 3. Urban regeneration; 4. Empowering the youth; 5. Economic recovery and development; 6. Smart City management; and 7. Good governance.

A similar advisory council was also created during Mayor Benjamin Magalong’s first term as Chief Executive for the same purpose. – Gaby B. Keith
