Five killed in Isabela truck crash

San Mateo, Isabela– Five people, including an infant, were killed after a truck plowed into a single motor and a tricycle along the National Highway Brgy. Balug, Tumauini, Isabela, a report from Police Regional Office 2 said today (Aug. 27, 2022).
Tumauini Police Station identified the truck driver as Oliver Zamora, 29, resident of Purok Daisy Brgy. Caloocan, Alicia, Isabela. The attending physician confirmed that he was positive on the alcohol breath test.
The fatalities were Kuldip Singh, driver of the single motorcycle, Indian National, 38 old, single, resident of Brgy. District III Tumauini, Isabela; Arnel Menor, driver of the Rusi tricycle, 37 years old, married and resident of Mallig, Isabela with passengers identified as Ernesto Caronan, 71 years old, married, a resident of Brgy. Bliss Village, City of Ilagan, Isabela; Diana Rose Menor, 36 years old, married, a resident of Mallig, Isabela; and Prince Adrian Menor, 6 months old.
Elma Caronan, 64 y/o, married, and resident of Brgy. Bliss Village City of Ilagan, Isabela was also on board the tricycle but has survived the accident. She was immediately brought by Rescue 811 to Tumauini Community Hospital.
Zamora was headed in the north when he encroached the other lane, causing a mishap with the incoming single motorcycle and tricycle headed in the south direction. Singh and Menor together with the three passengers died on the spot. # By Mae Barangan /FNS
