Signing the declaration of commitment embracing the whole of society in strengthening the Cordillera’s disaster resilience

Baguio City – Bilang pagtugon sa emergency preparedness sa lungsod ay nagkaisa at nangako na magtutulungan ang pamahalaang lungsod ng Baguio na pinamunuan ni Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong,  Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, OCD-CAR Regional Director Albert A. Mogol,  Emergency Response Team,  DSWD-CAR Regional Director Arnel B. Garcia, Municipality of La Trinidad Mayor Romeo K. Salda, Municipality of Tublay Armando I. Lauro, Roman Catholic Church, Born Again Christian, Islam, Military Police, PIA-CAR representing by Carlito Dar, and PTV-CAR Station Manager Richard Valdez and PTV Anchor Event host Eddie Carta with OCD-CAR Event host Arianie Atolba ay lumagda para sa deklarasyon ng pangako na niyayakap ang buong lipunan sa pagpapalakas ng katatagan ng kalamidad sa Cordillera.

Ang isinasaad sa Declaration of Commitment ay:

We commit to… Use all means and platforms to disseminate critical information to the public to amplify their awareness and understanding of hazards and disaster risks necessary to make informed and safe decisions during imminent hazards and danger.

Create and implement structural and non-structural site specific relevant, and responsive programs, projects and activities to address needs and gaps in the disaster prevention and mitigation preparedness, response, and recovery situation of our area of responsibility.

Foster participatory and community-based disaster risk reduction and management in the planning implementation monitoring and evaluation of DRRM initiatives at all levels.

Participate and take the lead in the adoption of new and responsive policies, plans, codes systems, designs, mechanisms, and guidelines for both public and private sectors to reduce the potential impact of hazards.

Allocate resources to increase the capacities of disaster managers key sectors and stakeholders that include but not limited to regular drills, training activities logistical procedures IECs and periodic review and updating of DRRM Plans and Work on attaining the commitment, goodwill, knowledge, and resources of stakeholders through transparency.

Signed this 16th of July 2022 during the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month and commemoration of the July 16, 1990 Earthquake.
