DSWD Sec. Tulfo, DND USec. Faustino are guests in city’s July 16 Disaster Resilience Month Program

Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Vice-Chair for Response Erwin Tulfo and Department of National Defense Undersecretary/OIC and NDRRMC chair Jose Faustino Jr. are the Guests of Honor and Speakers during the ‘Serbisyo Para Sa Bayan’ opening ceremonies/ launching event and DRRM Exhibit on July 16, 8 am, at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center.

The event is spearheaded by the Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and Office of Civil Defense-CAR in line with the city’s National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2022 Observance, Commemoration of the 1990 Luzon ‘Killer’ Earthquake and 4th year anniversary celebration of the PTV Cordillera’s public service program, ‘Isyu@Serbisyo’.

City DRRM Office head Antonette Anaban said Mayor Benjamin Magalong will deliver the occasion’s welcome remarks while OCD-CAR Dir. Albert Mogol will give the inspirational message and also introduce Sec. Faustino, Jr. while DSWD FO-CAR Director and Regional DRRMC vice chair for response Arnel Garcia will introduce Sec. Tulfo.

An interfaith unity prayer will be held during the program including a bestowal of tokens and signing of commitment led by the Secretaries, Mayor, OCD-CAR Dir., PTV Station Manager Richard Valdez and other Regional Directors, government officials, agency heads, and other guests.

A triage/health check-up will be conducted during the registration while a photo opportunity with the special guests and other dignitaries will end the activity, Anaban said. – Gaby B. Keith
