TOG2 assists 5ID Commander in the troop visit

SAN MATEO, Isabela- Lt.Col. Sadiri R. Tabutol, group commander of Tactical Operations Group 2 (TOG2) of the Philippine Air Force assisted MGen. Laurence E. Mina, commander of 5th Infantry Division (5ID), Philippine Army together with the Triad Staff in their visit to the frontline troops in the hard-to-reach areas in Cagayan using the S-70i Black Hawk escorted by AW109-AH Helicopter on June 14, 2022.
The ground visit was purposely done to inspect, provide solutions to the issues and concerns of the troops, and deliver needed supplies.
The frontline troops were tasked to conduct combat and reconnaissance patrols to maintain peace and security in their area of operation.
MGen. Mina in a press release strongly expressed his willingness to end local armed conflict. He said that the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) will have to face consequences if they continue to resist the government’s call for peace.
TOG2 is under the Operational Control of 5ID. Several victories in the intensified focused military operations of 5ID troops against the CTGs was due to the available air assets that were facilitated by TOG2. To recall, the four wounded in action soldiers were lifted by the personnel of TOG2 after a 30-minute firefight in the far-flung Barangay Capellan on Aug. 13, 2021.
Meanwhile, a fun bike and clean-up drive was conducted by TOG2 on Jun. 11, 2022 as part of the pre-anniversary celebration activity of the 75th Anniversary of the Philippine Air Force.
Lt.Col. Tabutol led the fun bike dubbed as “padyak” that was participated by uniformed personnel and stakeholders. Among the bikers who finished the distance of approximately 48kms were Lt.Col. Lemuel A Baduya, commander of 102nd Infantry Battalion, Lt.Col. Lowen D. Audal, commanding officer of Service Support Battalion of the 5ID, and Lt.Col. Sherwin F. Cuntapay, chief of Cauayan City Police.
Tabutol in an interview said the activity was based on the directive- PAFwide Lipad Philippine Air Force Padyak jibed with the clean-up drive at Magat Dam in Ramon, Isabela where the route ended. They also donated 21 trash cans here.
“Biking promotes physical fitness and we want to bring awareness to the entire region about the role of the Philippine Air Force in peacekeeping and nation-building”, Tabutol said.
