Private and Public Sector partner to upgrade the lives of Filipinos

Baguio City – DOST Regional Director Dr. NANCY A. BANTOG, CESO III, and National Research Council of the Philippines under DOST, Executive Director Dr. Marieta Sumagaysay gave their message via zoom and Facebook live to partake in the opening and untying ribbon led by the participating department guest are Atty. Marion Ivy Decena – Director –  Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI),  Dr. Pepita S. Picpican – Assistant Regional Director for. Technical Services (DOST-CAR),  SM Baguio Mall Manager Rona Correa also with the presence of the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI) led by Greg Thompson with the team, Maria Rowena C. Madarang – Assistant Regional Director for Finance and Administrative Services, Engr. Angel  Maguen – Assistant Regional Director for Field Operations Services.

Also, the six provinces of the Cordillera Region are; ENGR. RALF B. SAPI-IL – Provincial Science and Technology Director (DOST-ABRA), ENGR. DEBBIE GLYNN V. MANANGKIL – Provincial Science and Technology Director (DOST – APAYAO), Dr. SHEILA MARIE S. CLAVER – Provincial Science and Technology Director (DOST – BENGUET), ENGR. GENNA B. JALLORINA – Provincial Science and Technology Director (DOST- IFUGAO),  MS. DEXY M. CATACUTAN – Officer-in-charge, Provincial Science and Technology Director (DOST – KALINGA) and MR. ALFONSO K. BERTO – Provincial Science and Technology Director (DOST  – MOUNTAIN PROVINCE)

The collaboration of the DOST and SM Supermalls nationwide SM promotion and exhibit in SM Supermalls is a collaborative effort of the Department of Science and Technology, SM Supermalls to fulfill its mandate in Social Responsibility to bring science closer to the people.

SM Supermalls has agreed to provide the venue for the DOST can feature its latest technologies creating awareness of the general public about the DOST program and services including its initiatives.

This project also sees to encourage commercialization and an understanding of the technologies innovation and services that have been developed locally for the improvement of the lives of the Filipinos.

“Our hope is for the big event to also be a chance for the various assisted SMEs to promote what they have to offer and for everyone to be informed and invited to participate in the DOST related activities,”

Sa panayam ng Filipino News Sentinel kay TAPI Director Decena, “The DOST in collaboration with the SM Supermalls ay umiikot kami sa mga identify SM malls para magkaroon ng opportunity to showcase yun mga innovation sa technology nade develop ng department, ito ay para malaman naman ng mga users, ng public primarily kung ano na yun mga bago na nade-develop ng DOST na pwede makatulong sa kanila lalo na ngayon na nasa pandemic,”

“Nakita natin dito sa exhibit kung gaano ka brilliant ang mga mines na narito naipakita nila kung paano nila I innovate to the fact na nagkaron tayo ng pandemic these past two  years and yet it did not stop them from innovating so, I’m proud to say na yun mga products na naka exhibit now are really opt for commercialization already kung baga pwedeng pwede na ito sa merkado.
