Parks office issues guidelines on Children’s Playground use

The City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) has issued guidelines on the use of the newly reopened Children’s Playground at Burnham Park.

Only 150 children aged 3-12 years old will be allowed at a time inside the facility which will open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The children must be accompanied by parents or guardians who must ensure that they and their children or wards are observing minimum safety protocols at all times such as mandatory wearing of face masks and regular disinfection.

The playground was closed in 2019 to give way for its rehabilitation as part of the city government’s ongoing parks rejuvenation program but the closure was extended due to the pandemic.

It was reopened last March 27 after the completion of the finishing touches.

Children filled the facility during the reopening and frolicked around both the play facilities, five of which are new while the rest are old but refurbished for safety of the users.

City Environment and Parks Management Officer Rhenan Diwas presided over the ceremonial reopening on behalf of Mayor Benjamin Magalong along with Coun. Betty Lourdes Tabanda.

The children themselves led the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon to officially open the play place.

The Baguio City Library under City Librarian Easter Pablo facilitated book reading and storytelling sessions for the children.  Two areas have been designated as such books as educational attractions of the playground.

Other rules adopted:
