5 Individuals nabbed for playing Tupada in Benguet
The quick response of the police officers in Mankayan has resulted in the arrest of five individuals for engaging in illegal cockfighting activity in Brgy. Paco, Mankayan, Benguet on March 20, 2020.
According to the reports reaching the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the five suspects were identified as Arnecio Aplota Balian Sr., 66; Mr. Arturo Lopez Gayongan, 68; Myrick Capuyan Sungayab, 42; Leander Degyem Bukang, 59; and Jomar Neri Perez, 35.
According to the same reports, a concerned citizen called Mankayan MPS complained about the ongoing illegal cockfighting activity in the said place.
Operatives of Mankayan MPS immediately responded and launched an anti-illegal gambling operation which resulted in the arrest of the five individuals after they were caught in the act of engaging in the illegal cockfighting activity.
Operatives were able to seize two (2) live fighting cocks and two (2) empty rooster boxes, as the result of the operation.
Arrested suspects were brought to Mankayan MPS for documentation. The suspects will be facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling Law. (PROCOR-PIO)
