4th placer in Journalism Research Conference cited
City officials recently congratulated and commended John Patrick Molina and Kristine Ingrid Rivera of the Bachelor of Arts in Communication of the Catholic-run Saint Louis University (SLU) for placing 4th in the Journalism Research–Community Studies category during the 2023 Philippine Journalism Research Conference.
In a resolution, local legislators claimed that the incredible performance of Molina and Rivera is worthy of commendation and that the same shall continue to inspire students, especially the budding journalists.
On May 5, 2023, the 2023 Philippine Journalism Research Conference was conducted at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman with the theme “Journalism and Generation Truth’ where various universities nationwide submitted their entries for the different categories.
Two groups from the senior students of SLU’s Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Languages and Communication Department were among the finalists in the research competition.
Molina and Rivera placed 4th in the journalism research – community studies category with their study “In the Eyes of a Bystander: Understanding the Motivation of Citizen Journalists in Information Dissemination and Collection as a lens in Exploring Post-pandemic Storytelling.
