4 individuals nabbed for illegal gambling in Abra

Four individuals were apprehended for engaging in tupada or illegal cockfight in Bangued, Abra on February 27, 2022.

Citing the reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the four suspects were identified as Mario  Borreta, 51; Alfredo Bandin, 40; Justo Barila, 51 and Michael John Santos, 39, all residents of Bangued, Abra.

According to the same reports, operatives of Bangued MPS, Provincial Intelligence Unit of Abra PPO, and RMFB15 launched an anti-illegal gambling operation after receiving a report from a concerned citizen regarding an ongoing illegal cockfighting activity in the said place.

As the result of the operation, operatives seized two (2) live fighting cocks; one (1) dead fighting cock; three (3) chicken boxes; 12 pieces of gaffes, assorted gambling paraphernalia, and the bet money.

Arrested suspects were brought to Bangued MPS for documentation and proper disposition while charges for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 are being prepared against the suspects. (PROCOR-PIO)
