35K WORTH OF ILLEGALLY SAWN PINE LUMBERS SEIZED IN BENGUET
As Benguet cops continue to intensify their anti-illegal logging campaign, another individual was arrested after he was intercepted with a truck loaded with Php 35,000 worth of illegally sawn pine lumber in Brgy. Pito, Bokod, Benguet on May 15, 2023.
Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., the suspect was identified as Marciano Senon Guinoran, 35 years old.
The same report disclosed that police officers of Bokod Municipal Police Station (MPS) were immediately dispatched after a concerned citizen tipped off operatives about a truck loaded with illegally sawn pine lumber in Brgy. Pito, Benguet.
Upon arrival, police operatives inspected the truck and found pine flitches with an estimated volume of more or less one thousand (1000) board feet with an estimated market value of Php 35,000.00.
Operatives arrested the suspect after he failed to provide pertinent documents about the said flitches.
The arrested suspect is now under the custody of Bokod MPS and will be facing charges for violation of PD 705 or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines, while the vehicle used and Pine flitches were brought to the CENRO Bokod Office for proper disposition. (PROCOR-PIO / File photos)
