2023 Outstanding Young Men Awardee cited

City officials recently congratulated and commended Tor Sagud for being one of the honorees of the Outstanding Young Men Awards 2023.

In a resolution, local legislators stated that the local government recognizes and commended Sagud for his exemplary recognition and award that reflects his invaluable contribution not only in the field of culture and arts but also to the community as a whole.

The Outstanding Young Men Awards 2023, formerly known as the Outstanding Young Filipinos from 1996 to 1999, is an annual national recognition awarded to Filipinos between 18 to 40 years of age who have made significant contributions to their field or community.

Further, the Outstanding Young Men Awards 2023, organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines, took place last May 9, 2024 at the Centennial hall of the Manila Hotel.

Sagud is an illustrator and author of various books, who was recognized in the area of heritage promotion.

He was instrumental in creating the books Igorotak series that include the 2019 hit Igorotak, an illustrated guide that showed general information about Igorot culture, the people’s cultural attire, local flora and fauna, among others in colorful illustrations.

Moreover, Sagud also established his own studio that helps in the upskilling of the young creatives, especially in the field of animation.

Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to Sagud for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. – Dexter A. See
