1,340 Baguio folks benefit from DOLE assistance

Some 1, 340  residents from the city’s 56 barangays were provided with financial assistance from the labor department’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged or Displaced Workers Program (TUPAD) last month.

The TUPAD assistance was the initiative of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez in coordination with the Office of Rep. Mark Go.

Rep. Go said that he will continue to work hard to be able to access whatever available financial assistance from concerned government agencies that will be equitably distributed to the qualified residents from the various city barangays.

The TUPAD financial assistance is given by the labor department to qualified beneficiaries that will be identified by the various barangays for them to be able to cope up with the prevailing challenges of life triggered by different supervening issues and concerns that impact the current living condition of the people.

The Baguio lawmaker assured city residents that his office will continue to do its part in extending whatever appropriate assistance to those who are in dire need of the same to meet their needs.

The distribution of TUPAD assistance to qualified beneficiaries was one of the government programs that was offered by the government during the 15th edition of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair Caravan last April 21-22, 2024 at the Benguet State University compound in nearby La Trinidad, Benguet.

Go called on city residents who are in need of assistance to visit his office based at the second floor of city hall so that the staff could assess and evaluate their situation for whatever assistance that will fit their qualifications.

He said that people can access various assistance from concerned government agencies provided that they qualify based on the requirements that will be provided by the recipients for them to be extended the available assistance to help them cope up with the current challenges confronting them. – Dexter A.
