11th year Christmas Village at BCC is now open to the public
BAGUIO CITY – Baguio Country Club, the first and only 5-Star Mountain Resort in the Philippines had a soft launch of one of the popular tourist attractions in the City of Pines, the Christmas Village held on Monday (October 10, 2022).
The invitation, of BCC General Manager Anthony De Leon to the media and family is to show the new creation of the BCC management this upcoming holiday season at the Christmas village where the children enjoyed the snow show it seemed you are in Japan and Korea because it’s structures fit perfectly with the design of artificial flowers.
And even the costumes of the Japanese and Korean characters are very beautiful and suit them well.
You will really enjoy it because you will be entertained by what you can watch like the following: performing Nativity pageant, Snow Show, Cosplay Busking, Live Musical Performance, Picture Taking with Santa and Japanese & Korean characters, and Wishing Wall.
BCC Customer Relations Manager Andrew Pinero said, “Oriental Winter Wonderland it fits a mix between Korean and Japanese characters ito ang naisip namin this year para hindi na lumayo sa Pilipinas, and besides Christmas in Japan and Korea is quite extraordinary because there is also snow rare.
“Since ang tema natin ay Korean and Japanese more on structures that represent Korea and Japan wala tayo niyan in the past and we added more lights, this year we focus on the lights, papasok ka pa lang sa BCC road ay lights na yun sasalubong sa iyo sa gabi and really is welcoming parang tinatawag ka na pumasok sa Christmas Village ng Baguio Country Club.
“Basically, of course yun ating mga characters kailangan yun costume nila ay authentic so, what we did was invested at kumuha tayo ng talagang magandang authentic Japanese and Korean costumes
“Inumpisahan ginawa ito a month and a half pero ang dami natin challenges because ang daming typhoon na dumaan sa atin, maganda na pero bigla masisira na naman so, we have to redo it again until we finally finish it just today ngayon lang talaga natapos ito through the artwork of the BCC Malou Galiste, resident manager, they focus really hard for this, it will run through soft opening natin ngayon (October 10).
“On October 29, we will be having a grand opening and the local officials join us to do the ribbon cutting and formally open the Christmas Village our closing will be on January 8, 2023.
“We always invite our kababayan were visually impaired yun mga bata to performed here not just to showcase their talents but also to introduced them to people who probably want to take services also so, aside from them having a regular gig dito sa Christmas village it is also an exposure for them we always put them on a weekend para marami talagang tao makapanood sa kanila, and of course, always open yun doors natin para doon sa mga orphans natin, yun mga orphanages natin we can get in touch with them, we invite them to come over, usually ang gusto ng mga orphanage na oras ng pagpunta rito is a daytime, kasi nahirapan sila sa gabi so, those are what we have now pagdating sa mga beneficiaries natin,”
“Ang importante lang sa mga papasok ay kailangan fully vaccinated at minimum requirements is requested to wear a face mask to protect themselves and social distancing also,”
“The concept is always been a collective effort between the management but more or less it is General Manager Anthony De Leon who ultimately sets the tone and the direction so, maganda yun teamwork lagi ng aming GM and the management of Baguio Country Club,” Pinero concluded
For several years, the Baguio Country Club Christmas Village is among the top destinations in Baguio City during the Christmas season. The opening is also in time with the onset of the cold dry season in the Philippines as the Habagat was just declared by PAGASA to have ended, which means, visitors of the Christmas village will be able to enjoy the place without or at least minimize the risk of rain. # Mario Oclaman // FNS
